The Riverside Radio team has been working hard to bring you festive offerings for our Christmas and New Year schedule 2024 and into 2025. You'll be able to tune into our Pantomime, Cinderella, find out who made the top ten in our Track of the Year chart and also catch up on all the news, sports and arts reviews of the year from across south west London and re-live Christmas light switch on events with as much normal programming as possible in-between. All of us here at Riverside Radio wish all our listeners in Richmond, Wandsworth, Merton and Lambeth a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

CINDERELLA

Riverside Radio presents its 2024 Pantomime CINDERELLA written and directed by Spotlight’s Sian Kenyon and starring Riverside Breakfast presenters Jason Rosam as Buttons, Ali Ineson and Ali Palmer as the Evil Sisters, newsreaders Cece Kane as Cinderella and Charlie Pritchard as Prince Charming alongside News Editor Cam Hall as Dandini and Riverside Drive’s Ian Barclay as Baroness Hardup and Martin Adams as the Fairy Godmother. Recorded in front of a live studio audience at The Exhibit in Balham.

Riverside Radio loves supporting and promoting south west London based musicians wether they are singers, songwriters or local bands. Riverside Radio presenter and Digital Editor Joey Cooke is the man who organises local artists to be featured every week and has put together a chart of the top ten songs this year which have been voted on by Riverside Radio presenters and listeners on our social media platforms. Who will make it to the top spot and become Riverside Radio’s Track of the Year for 2024.

RIVERSIDE REPORTS 2024 REVIEW

Our Riverside Reports team covered a momentous year in local Politics as Sadiq Khan won a third term as Mayor of London and a new Assembly was formed in the London Elections in May followed by a Summer General Election which wiped the Tories off the south west London map in Parliament. Our news and political editor Cam Hall take sun through the local political year with highlights from our Question Time debates in Wimbledon and Putney and our marathon results shows for both elections.

The news team also highlight some of the biggest local news stories of 2024 such as the ongoing battle from local campaigners who want to Save Wimbledon Park from the development plans of the All England Lawn Tennis Club to create a bigger Wimbledon Championships to the flooding of AFC Wimbledon’s pitch at Plough Lane.

RIVERSIDE RADIO SPORTS REVIEW 2024

The Riverside Radio sports team review a gigantic year of sport with The Euro’s, Olympics and Paralympics as well as all the successes and losses of our local sports teams across south west London. Battersea Power Station hosted a Team GB and Paralympics GB FanZone and AFC Wimbledon are ending the year heading to the playoffs of League 2.

As Wandsworth becomes the London Borough of Culture next year the Arts team cover the latest offerings from south west London’s arts and culture venues in 2024 including the Wandsworth Arts Fringe and Lambeth Fringe. Listen again to some of the best interviews with actors, performers, film makers and beat boxers who’ve been taking to stages to perform from Battersea Arts Centre to the New Wimbledon Theatre and everywhere else in-between.
